Subarctic Training Camp in Underwater Rugby

StiL Undervattensrugby welcomes clubs in the Barents region to an underwater rugby training camp! 👋

Program

Thursday April 30 – Intro day

Hello and welcome! We gather at the overnight accommodation where everyone can drop off their luggage. Then we head to Piteå, where those who want can participate in Kanalsimmet, an annual tradition. After Kanalsimmet, we warm up all the swimmers with a Valborg bonfire.

  • 16.30 – Meet at the accomodation + Welcome 👋
  • 17.15 – Joint departure to Piteå

FAQ

Do I need to be experienced to participate?

No! The camp is open to all skill levels. Workshops and training are adapted for both beginners and experienced players.

Can I borrow equipment?

Equipment for UWR is available in limited supply, but please bring your own if possible.
If you want to rent a wetsuit for Kanalsimmet, they are available in very limited supply. Please check with your local dive club as well.

Is accommodation included?

Accommodation is included.
Bring your own sleeping bag and something to sleep on.

What about food?

Friday and saturday we will have group dinner. One of those may be self funded at a restaurant (to be decided). Fika is provided on Sunday.

What will we do during pool hours?

Due to the size of the pool, we will focus on playing matches. We will split up in teams so there will be both exchanges within teams, and the possibility to rest between games.
